Web Developer/Digital Designer
What we’re looking for:
We have an exciting opportunity available to join our marketing team as a full-time website developer. We’re looking for an organised and dynamic individual who feels confident in managing, designing, coding and optimising our company and product websites. A thorough knowledge and understanding of web development and a flair for web design is essential. You should also be able to implement web and SEO best practices and understand digital marketing.
Job Role:
Working with our marketing team, you will be responsible for creating new, engaging websites, as well as maintaining our company and product websites. Using your web development expertise, you will produce user-friendly, responsive, SEO and mobile optimised sites using well-written and organised code.
Key Responsibilities:
Web Development
Develop new, modern websites for our company and product brands incorporating a suitable and reliable CMS, developing functionality at code-level to reduce reliance on 3rd-party plugins where possible.
Website Maintenance
Maintain and update our websites with our latest marketing content. Optimise our websites for search engines, mobile, user experience and lead generation. Fix any broken links, errors and indexing issues.
Security
Ensure our websites are always kept secure and up to date, keeping up to date with the latest risks and vulnerabilities and following industry best-practices. Ensure the SSL certificate is renewed, and the required security protocols are in place.
SEO
A thorough understanding of search engine optimisation is required to build our new websites with SEO in mind, as well as implementing best practices and optimising our existing sites.
Digital Marketing
Ability to use tools and platforms such as Google Search Console, Tag Manager and GA4 to enhance our websites and digital marketing.
Collaboration
You will be required to work with our marketing team and other stakeholders on the planning and creation of our websites to ensure alignment with our vision and strategy.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience/qualification in web development and design required (2 years minimum)
- Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and PHP is essential
- Experience with WordPress essential
- Experience with other CMS’s beneficial
- Proficient with Google web tools such as Search Console, GA4, Tag Manager, etc.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe XD, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Further experience using Bootstrap and Umbraco CMS is advantageous
- Excellent time management
- Good communication skills
- Organised and adaptable approach to work
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
(Office-based role. Hybrid working may be considered).
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:30am - 5:00pm)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience.
